I will always and forever be overly obsessed with low light. When my mom wanted to go up Mt. Lassen for her 65th birthday, I planned it so we could be at the top during the sunset. Even if that meant a chilly moonlit hike back down in the dark. Hitting the sunset at the top of Mt. Lassen was worth the braving the night.
We were the last ones left on top for the sunset. The peak crater was a playground of golden light. These photos helped me to remember that it was worth it to haul all of my gear up to the top.
Happy 65th birthday to my mom! Thankful for these memories.
