"Rimrock Shadows" is the handle I photograph under. It is the name that my grandmother gave to my family home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. I chose to use this over my full name because I enjoy keeping it alive and perpetuating my grandparent's legacy.
I used to have a portrait and wedding photography business in Chico, CA near where I live. My photography career also brought me to the Middle East where I was a photojournalist in Israel and Palestine. I published a book in 2017, but shortly afterwards put my camera down. After a brief hiatus from photography from 2017-2021, I picked my camera back up and regained my creative drive.
In August of 2023, I became an FAA Part 107 drone pilot. I now offer creative services through my drone, which is named Icarus. But I keep it under 400 ft, so there's no risk of it getting to close too the sun.
